Enter Wales by road, air or sea and you'll see the greeting "Croeso i Gymru", in the Welsh language, one of the most ancient of Celtic tongues still spoken. Experience the warmth of that welcome by visiting a land where the scenery changes every few miles, where the climate is mild and the culture unique.
Make the most of your visit by using the services provided by a Visit Wales Official Guide - the only guides recognised by the Wales Assembly Government to guide here.
All members are qualified to conduct guided tours in Wales. They have undergone a comprehensive course to study under the auspices of the Visit Wales & the Institute of Tourist Guiding, having passed both written and practical examinations. Some members have additional language qualifications and knowledge of specialised subjects such as Industrial Archaeology, Architecture, Music and Arts, Gardens, Welsh culture and history, Legends etc. They are the only tourist guides qualified to guide in Wales.
How We Can Help You?
Coach Tours
Most members are qualified to guide on coaches and can accompany a party for a half day or full day in a specified area or on an extended tour not only in Wales, but picking up anywhere in the UK and guiding through Wales.
Some are experienced Tour Managers.
Walking Tours
Members can guide a party on tours, advise on and accompany groups to local amenities and attractions, sites of special interest or beauty, such as prehistoric or industrial archaeology sites, environmental centres, nature trails, forest walks, waterfalls, outstanding viewpoints, etc.
Lectures and Illustrated Talks
We can help you to increase your knowledge and enjoyment of Wales and things Welsh through the medium of a light-hearted illustrated talk.
Driver Guiding
We not only cater for groups but also for individuals, by acting as driver guides, with our own cars. We will follow your brief or create a tour specially designed to match your interests, your pocket and the time you have available, We are especially skilled at knowing all those out-of-the-way places of particular interest which are inaccessible by coach.
Conferences
Let an Official Wales Tourist Guide take the strain and organise the special outings during conferences. We are happy to advise on and arrange itineraries most suited to the needs of conference delegates, their partners or their customers.
Arranging Itineraries
We are the professionals. Our knowledge of Wales can relieve you of the hassle of detailed planning. Centre your holiday, under our guidance, around festivals, castles, mountains, the Great Little Trains of Wales, Welsh beaches, industrial archaeology, prehistoric sites, sports, activity centres, pony trekking, literary trails, gardens, areas of special scenic interest . . . . the possibilities are endless.
Whatever your wishes, we will tailor your tour, to make the past live again, to show you the present from 'the inside' and to hint at how Wales is meeting the challenge of the future.
Location
We have members based in Wales, England & France.
Flexibility
Our Members are always pleased to meet their clients at any of the major airports, sea ports or rail stations.
